Ophthalmology: experience at a glance

Ophthalmology is an essential discipline for preventing and treating eye diseases, which significantly impact quality of life. Over 80% of vision disorders can be prevented or treated. HCC has developed its expertise in the field through collaborations with leading national and international companies, such as Ntc Pharma, Sifi Group, Bausch & Lomb, and Meteda. These collaborations promote innovation in therapies and new technologies, such as DAIRET for screening diabetic retinopathy.

Ophthalmology plays a crucial role in preserving visual health, improving lives, and preventing vision loss. In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that over 80% of visual impairment is preventable or treatable. It is a specialty that requires specific skills and continuous training due to the constant evolution of research and technology. An eye exam is a fundamental checkup to assess overall eye health and prevent serious complications from other diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy, a leading cause of blindness in developed countries.

HCC's expertise in ophthalmology

Since its establishment in 2018, we have supported the evolution and growth of Ntc Pharma, an Italian group that focuses on the research and development of pharmaceutical products, medical devices, and nutritional supplements, particularly in the field of ophthalmology. We oversee all aspects of corporate communications, including the press office, the LinkedIn editorial plan, production of the annual Value Report, and brand identity and positioning. Since 2017, we have worked with the SIFI Group to produce marketing materials and develop communication activities dedicated to ophthalmologists. In 2019, we supported Bausch & Lomb's awareness and screening campaign with in-pharmacy visits and the "Quando l'occhio si fa sentire" (When Your Eyes Make Themselves Feel) initiative, which focused on dry eye syndrome. Finally, from 2022 to 2024, we managed the acquisition and market launch of DAIRET (Diabetes Artificial Intelligence for RETinopathy) technology by the Italian company Meteda. DAIRET is an artificial intelligence algorithm for the primary screening of diabetic retinopathy.
